Gyermelyi Zrt. is Hungary's leading pasta manufacturer, its largest egg producer and a key player in the milling industry. The company also carries out agricultural activities across 8,800 hectares.

At one of the Hungarian pasta manufacturer's plants, the technologies installed frequently caused indoor temperatures to rise above 30 °C. The company therefore sought a solution capable of providing adequate cooling in a sustainable yet cost-effective manner.
The answer to this challenge came in the form of two two-stage adiabatic IntrCooll Plus units, installed upstream of the intake section of the hall's existing air handling units. The project did not involve complicated works and offered Gyermelyi Zrt. a favourable option in terms of cost as well. The two IntrCooll Plus units deliver tempered air into the hall and, on the principle of evaporative cooling, efficiently maintain a comfortable indoor climate up to outdoor temperatures of approximately 28–30 °C.
A further significant advantage of the system, particularly in food industry facilities, is the high level of hygiene it provides. The evaporative cassettes of two-stage adiabatic systems are made of inorganic material and feature an antimicrobial hydrophilic coating and a self-cleaning mechanism, ensuring hygienic, safe operation and effective protection against Legionella over the long term.
In order for the system to cool the workstations under high heat load adequately even in the most extreme summer heat, the installation of a further two to three IntrCooll Plus units will be required. Thanks to the modular design, these can easily be integrated into the existing configuration.
