The operators of the Alkotás Point Office Building approached Oxyma in 2019, seeking to modernise their existing free cooling system and thereby improve both the performance and the energy efficiency of the building's cooling and humidification. The building's operators required a solution that would provide consistent comfort and performance throughout the year.
The solution consisted of two parts: the modernisation of the existing free coolers, and the installation of a cooling and humidification wall built into the air handling unit, with which Oxyma's engineers replaced the company's outdated thermal humidifiers.
Thanks to the PreCooll adiabatic pre-cooling system, water can be supplied to the system at a temperature 10–12 °C lower, as a result of which the free cooling period has been extended and significant energy savings have been observed on the chillers.
The installation of the OxyVap humidification wall has proved advantageous not only in terms of relative indoor humidity — it was positioned upstream of the cooling coil so that it could also assist with cooling during the summer months. This has delivered a further 500 kW of energy savings on humidification for the office building.
