An ideal choice even under strict ESD protection requirements: our in-house developed, advanced humidification system

RAFI Hungária Kft. has been manufacturing printed circuit boards (PCBs) and fully assembled products for almost 30 years, primarily for operating and control systems. At its headquarters in Mezőtúr, 500 employees work across a floor area of 15,000 m², in accordance with strict ISO and customer-specific standards.

1. THE CHALLENGE

At RAFI's plant, humidity control was handled by a conventional steam humidification system built into a central air handling unit, which had a number of drawbacks:
⚠️ Extremely high energy consumption (2 × 97.5 kW)
⚠️ Frequent maintenance requirements and high service costs
⚠️ Limited control accuracy and fluctuating humidity levels
⚠️ Unreliable performance, placing product quality at risk

The existing system therefore represented a sustainable solution neither operationally nor economically, particularly in light of the strict ESD protection requirements.

2. THE SOLUTION

Oxyma's engineers proposed a holistic, system-level upgrade for RAFI, in the course of which the old steam-based system was replaced by a state-of-the-art solution built on two core elements:

🌫️ The Oxyma HPH in-house developed high-pressure direct atomisation humidification system
- Atomisation at a pressure of 80 bar
- With custom-developed nozzles
- Drip-free, uniform humidification
- Fine-tuned relative humidity control with an accuracy of ±3%
- Atomisation of process water into the warmer upper air layers of the interior

Beyond the two main elements, every single component — from the hydraulic diaphragm pumps to the drip-free nozzles — has been designed to work in perfect synergy, thereby providing RAFI's operators with a reliable, resource-efficient humidification ecosystem.

3. THE RESULTS

Following the introduction of the new system, the company experienced a dramatic change in humidification:
✅ 84% lower energy consumption (savings of 346,400 kWh/year)
✅ 80% reduction in maintenance costs
✅ 80% lower failure rate
✅ 36% less water consumption
✅ 50% more accurate humidity control (±3% RH)
