The challenge
The climate control challenges at AUCHAN Soroksár may be described as typical, and will therefore be familiar to operators of most commercial or industrial facilities running rooftop air conditioning.
Summer overload
The existing air handling units could no longer cope with the load and were unable to maintain the 25 °C target value.
High consumption
The outdated system required too much electricity, continuously driving up operating costs.
Poor ventilation
The fresh air supply was inadequate, particularly in the busy sales area and in the staff zones.
Recurring failures
Constant maintenance and unexpected faults were causing increasing difficulties.
Sustainability pressure
Tightening ESG requirements, refrigerant regulations and energy-saving obligations.
The solution
The Rooftop Retrofit programme offers a cost- and energy-efficient alternative to outdated, fully depreciated rooftop units — one that is unique on the air conditioning market.
Given that AUCHAN's operators had to replace their outdated air conditioning equipment in any case, Oxyma's new development presented an excellent opportunity to adopt a long-term solution to their climate control problems.
The plug & play solution, tailored to specific requirements, could be fitted perfectly to their existing system. It required no greater intervention than switching to a new rooftop unit would have done — yet in terms of consumption, performance and sustainability, the operators received a substantially better, future-proof system.
